You can join and participate in Discord without ever knowing these IDs, as developers primarily use these.
It is perfectly fine to share these Discord IDs as nothing malicious can be done with them. In fact, sometimes, you’ll have to provide these IDs when contacting Discord support.
What is a Discord User ID?
Discord user ID is a unique number associated with your username.
Because of this unique ID, multiple users can have the same username without any issues. The username is the same for these users, but the Discord user ID is different.
It is not the same as the 4-digit numerical code that you see after your username.

Finding a Discord ID is not difficult once you know the steps.
The First step to find any Discord ID is to enable the developer mode. We’ll go over that once, and you can follow the same steps to find other IDs.
How to Find your Discord User ID (PC)
To find your discord user ID, you need to first turn on the developer mode.
Step #1: Click on User Settings
Step #2: Find the ‘Advanced’ option under ‘App Settings’ on the left rail menu.
Step #3: Toggle the ‘Developer mode’ switch to turn it on.
Step #4: Go to ‘My Account’ under ‘User Settings’ on the left rail menu
Step #5: Go to ‘My Account’ under ‘User Settings’ and click on the three dots right next to your username and click on ‘Copy ID’. You can paste this ID in notepad or any other application to see the value.
Alternatively, you can right-click on your username from the member’s list as well to copy the user ID number.
How to Find Discord Server ID (PC)
To find the server ID, right-click on the server name in the left sidebar and click on ‘Copy ID’ in the menu.
How to Find Discord Channel ID (PC)
To find the channel ID, right-click on the channel name and click on ‘Copy ID’ in the menu.
How to Find Discord Message ID (PC)
There are two ways to find the message ID.
You can right-click anywhere on the message to bring up a menu. Then, click on ‘Copy ID’ in this menu to get the message ID.
Alternatively, you can click on the three dots that appear when you hover your mouse over a message. Then, click on ‘Copy ID’ in the menu that appears to get the message ID.

A few steps differ between iPhone and Andriod, and this article will cover both.

Turn on the Developer mode first to find your user ID on the Discord mobile app.

Step #1: Go to the Home screen and tap on your avatar to open the User settings.
Step #2: Scroll down and tap on the ‘Behavior’ option.
Step #3: Toggle the ‘Developer Mode’ button to on.
If you are using an iPhone (iOS) then, tap on your avatar on the bottom right corner > ‘Appearance’ > ‘Advanced’ > ‘Developer Mode’.
Step #4: Back in the server channel, tap on your avatar to bring up your profile

To find the server ID on the mobile app, tap on the three dots that appear right next to the server name. This will bring up a menu and scroll down to find the ‘Copy ID’.

To find the channel ID, find the channel name and tap and hold on its name. This will bring up a menu with the ‘Copy ID’ right at the bottom.
